The World of Artone, a History of a Dutch Record Label

At the record fair in Utrecht April 13 & 14, 2013 author Rob van Leeuwen will autograph his encyclopaedia The World of Artone.
Rob Van Leeuwen writer of World of Artone, the Story of a Dutch Record Company talks about his passion for vinyl:
‘In the Seventies, I started to collect the records from Artone and it’s sub-labels. I was captivated by the beautiful cover sleeves of the Artone singles. Without doubt the most beautiful covers ever made. The Artone record company was vested in 1956 and was sold early 1970 to CBS. The Artone area covered a span of 14 years in which they issued around 3000 singles and over 500 EP’s. The first issues were on 78 RPM, but they very quickly moved to the 45 RPM.

My book the World of Artone, the Story of a Dutch Record Company will show all the records Artone ever issued. If a picture cover exists, the picture cover is shown. Otherwise, the label is shown. I have included as much cover variations as possible. The book will have over 400 pages and also includes a short history of the company, all records released on 45 RPM, and advertisement materials from Artone.’
Please note: The book will be comparable with the PLUT platenboek and is available for around 80 euro. At the Mega Record & CD Fair on April 13 & 14 Rob will sell and autograph the first copies of this impressive new encyclopaedia.
